DJ


A disc jockey (also known as DJ or Deejay) is someone who selects and plays popular recorded music for the indented audience. A disc jockey plays different kind of music like rnb, hip hop, jazz, rock and every kind of music to entertain the crowd. The job of selecting, mixing and playing and creating different types on music is known as djing . A DJ mixes different sounds and plays music in night clubs, restaurant, weddings and all special occasions. The selected music, the audience, the setting, the preferred medium, and the level of sophistication of sound manipulation are factors that create a number of different types of deejays.

A disc jockey uses different dj equipments to mix their music like, dj gears, dj mixers, dj amplifiers, dj turntables, gemini dj equipments and many other dj equipments. A professional Disc jockey should know how to entertain the crowd. A become a professional DJ it is important to :

Mobile DJ

A mobile dj is one who plays juts not at a fixed location but also plays at various locations with their own sound systems. Mobile DJs works on hire bases at private functions such as wedding receptions, night clubs, pubs and bars, schools, colleges etc. Mobile DJs are also less expensive and play more mainstream selections of music from multiple genres and they often take requests. There are many famous mobile disc jockey's in the world and they have an extensive collection of music for a target audience. DJ Equipments


The most basic equipments that is necessary for a standard disc jockey to perform consists of the following:

1. sound recordings in preferred medium (e.g. vinyl records, compact discs, mp3s)
2. at least two devices for playback of sound recordings, for the purpose of alternating back and forth to create continuous playback (e.g. record players, compact disc players, mp3 players)
3. a sound system for amplification of the recordings (e.g. portable audio system, radio wave broadcaster).

To be a professional disc jockey it is important that the DJ should know how to use the latest DJ equipments like dj gears, dj lighting, dj turntables, gemini dj equipments and dj mixers. It is important for the disc jockey that while mixing music from different sources the various pieces if DJ equipments must be used skillfully.

Other DJ equipments which are used consists of a microphone (used to amplify the human voice), and headphones (used to listen to new recording while the other is playing, without outputting the sound to the audience) is strongly recommended, but not required. Other types of equipment can also be added, including samplers, drum machines, effects processors, slipmats, and Computerized Performance Systems.

The key features that differentiate a DJ mixer from other types of audio mixers are the ability to redirect (cue) a non-playing source to headphones and the presence of a crossfader, which allows for an easier transition between two sources. A DJ mixer has one or two headphone jack plugs and a headphone volume control. Headphones are normally used to monitor a cued channel, but on some mixers other variants are possible, such as split cue where cued channels are sent to the left headphone channel and master mix to the right, or a way to select between cued channels and master mix.
